People First Leadership Workshops are designed to meet the needs of organizations who wish to foster the development of their next generation of leaders, but are facing a reality where traditional education is either too costly or seems disconnected from the realities of their business.
Our focus is teaching the practice of becoming a leader. We distill the body of leadership knowledge into a simple, practical form and deliver it in a fun, interactive workshop. The workshops provide a balance of content and exercises, suiting all learning styles and ensuring that the audience stays engaged throughout.
People First leadership workshops make sense when compared to traditional leadership education programs for the following reasons:

Introduction to Leadership
This workshop is designed to expose emerging professionals and those new to management roles to fundamental concepts of leadership. It takes the highlights of a 13-week MBA leadership course and consolidates them into a tight, interactive, half-day workshop.
Leadership starts with the individual. We will consider different perceptions of work and career and how they have been shaped by our backgrounds. We will look in the mirror to our personal values and how those values influence our work preferences. We will then explore the most relevant leadership concepts on the bookshelves today to understand what leadership is, and the many different forms it can take. Finally, we will explore the importance of perception and understanding others as well as oneself along the journey towards effective leadership.
Outcomes:
- Inspire and empower new leaders to define their own leadership style and philosophy
- Provide historical insight into the fundamental challenges of new leaders: empathy; balance; motivation; delegation; trust; etc.
- Emphasize alignment with the organization to ensure a values-based, healthy, long term working relationship
- Improve retention while empowering self improvement in individuals

Personal Effectiveness
For a manager to be successful at leading others, they must first be able to lead themselves. This half-day workshop educates participants on how to get more productivity out of their days by performing at their highest level, while achieving balance in their lives.
Outcomes:
- understanding an individual's self-management preferences and potentially derailing habits through guided self discovery
- uncovering potential blind spots keeping an individual from performing at their highest level
- an understanding of how to improve personal effectiveness without compromising values or personal balance
This hour-and-a-half workshop is best suited for those who are trying to improve their working habits to achieve more productivity and balance in their lives. Through an interactive People First process of self discovery participants will gain a clear understaning of their current balance and uncover potential blindspots keeping them from performing at their highest level. We discuss the root causes leading to common archetypes and discuss improving oneself into a 'corporate athlete' through such topics as obtaining feedback, active listening, focus, and priority setting. By the end of this talk, participants will have a clear understanding of what it takes to be a high performer without compromise. They will also be aware of bad habits they have developed and be empowered to take action to manage them away.

Career Management
This workshop puts individuals on the path of a long term view on their career with a focus on the impact of values alignment and happiness at work on overall career success. It empowers a person to examine the path they are on and create a path that will lead to a fulfilling career in all aspects.

This hour-and-a-half workshop is designed for anyone seeking a long term, fulfilling career instead of a job. This workshop will give participants the perspective necessary to understand where they are, where they want to be, and to start down the path to achieve their long term objectives.
First we explore the meaning of work by looking at different approaches to work and understanding the individual’s frame. We examine the meaning of happiness in the workplace. This leads to an examination of our values and issues such as adversity and the power of a positive outlook. Finally, we move into action towards achieving your happiness at work through reflection on current situation and effective goal setting.
